The LISD TECH Center is partnering with Align Center for Workforce Development and Michigan Works! Southeast to host a Careers in Motion, a free family event, on Saturday, September 9th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the LISD TECH Center parking lot.
The Lenawee Intermediate School (LISD) District Board of Education filled three seats at their regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, June 5th. Dave Pray (Clinton) and Paula Holtz (Tecumseh) were elected to six year terms beginning July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2029. Dale Wingerd (Clinton), was appointed to fill a vacancy that will run through June 30, 2025.
On Thursday, April 6th, 82 local high school students were inducted into the LISD TECH Center chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during an evening ceremony. NTHS is an honor society that celebrates and empowers outstanding career and technical education (CTE) students through recognition, networking, and scholarship opportunities.
Three LISD TECH Center students in the Automotive Services Technology (AST) program received the Gary Bettis Tool Box Grant this month. The grants were presented by the Lenawee County Education Foundation (LCEF).
The LISD TECH Center held its second annual Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) pinning ceremony for students in both the Nursing Preparation and the Certified Nurse Aide programs on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. 26 LISD TECH Center students were pinned as part of the ceremony, having met state requirements to earn a CNA certification. One additional student met CNA requirements but was unable to attend.
LISD TECH Center students celebrated Veterans Day earlier this month through a project designed to honor veterans in Lenawee County. Led by the Nursing Preparation program, students and staff from across LISD TECH Center programs and other LISD classrooms created cards, notes, and various gifts to 84 veterans to recognize their service.
The Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) Board of Education recognized local business owner and community leader Garry Clift at their regularly scheduled August meeting for his dedication to local education, particularly the LISD TECH Center. A resolution recognizing Clift was passed unanimously by the Board.
