Notice of Public Hearing on June 24, 2024

Section 131 Ob of Michigan's Revised School Code, MCL 380.131Gb, requires that the Board of Education hold a public hearing prior to adopting a policy prohibiting bullying at school. Therefore, the LISD Board of Education hereby gives notice that a public hearing will be held on June 24, 2024, 4:00 PM, at the William J. Ross Education Service Center located at 4107 N. Adrian Highway in Adrian, MI. Please contact the LISD Board of Education office at 517.265.1627 if you have any questions.

LISD Board of Education Fills Vacancy

The Lenawee ISD Board of Education unanimously appointed Kathryn Mohr (Britton Deerfield) to fill an open seat at their regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, May 6th. The vacancy was created following the death of Lenawee ISD Board of Education Treasurer Dave Pray earlier this spring.

Lenawee ISD Seeks to Fill Board Vacancy

Last week, Lenawee ISD’s Board of Education Treasurer, David Pray, passed away, leaving an unfilled position on the Board. According to the Revised School Code, MCL 380.614, “A vacancy shall be filled by the remaining members of the intermediate school board until the next biennial election at which time the vacancy shall be filled for the balance of the unexpired term.”

LISD Mourns the Loss of Esteemed Board Member David Pray

It is with great sadness that Lenawee ISD announces the loss of David Pray, a cherished member of our Board of Education. Mr. Pray, who passed away on April 18, 2024, was a champion for public education, having served on the Lenawee ISD Board since 2016.

Local Students Compete in Chemistry Challenge

In a showcase of scientific prowess, middle school students from Lenawee County gathered at Adrian High School’s Performing Arts Center on January 30th for the regional You Be the Chemist Challenge®. More than 40 young minds put their chemistry knowledge to the test at the competition coordinated by the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD), Lenawee Now, and local chemical companies.

In a showcase of wit and eloquence, the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD)’s annual county debate league tournament unfolded earlier this month, hosting a riveting showdown among high school students from Adrian Public Schools, Blissfield Community Schools, Hudson Area Schools, and Lenawee Christian School.
