Payment for courses may be made by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, check, cash, or money order. Payment is due at the time of enrollment. Make checks payable to the LISD TECH Center.

Special Accommodations

Students with disabilities are asked to notify Adult Learning Services @ LISD TECH Center of their specific needs before the course starts so we can make appropriate accommodations. This information will be held in total confidence and such written communication removed from the program folder after the course has been completed.

Cancellations

A decision to run a course is generally made a few days before the course starts. If there are fewer than the minimum number of registrants to run a course, the course will be canceled. Those who have registered will be notified of the cancellations and a full refund will be issued.

Refunds

For ALS courses, tuition refunds upon withdrawal from a course will be made as follows*:

1. Notification of withdrawal before the first class meeting – 100% refund minus a $10 registration fee.
2. Notification of withdrawal before the second class meeting – percentage of tuition eligible for reimbursement will correspond to the percentage of the class completed, minus a $10 registration fee.
3. There will be no refunds or transfer of tuition after the second class of any course.
4. Books and materials that have been used are NOT refundable.
5. Refunds will be mailed or issued within 1-2 weeks.
6. CNA students will receive a refund policy applicable to their course.
7. Motorcycle Safety does NOT allow cancellations.

*Note: For third-party courses, you may need to process your refund request though the third-party agency.

Discounts

Discounted tuition is available for qualified students. Some course restrictions apply. Discounts cannot be combined and must be used at time of checkout to be applied. Sorry, there are no discounts on material fees.

To claim your discount, an LISD staff member must register you.  Call or come into the office. Discounts apply to TUITION ONLY.   Check course descriptions for courses that do not allow discounts.

LISD Staff Discount

Anyone employed by the Lenawee Intermediate School District is eligible for a 50% discount on tuition. Family member of LISD employees are eligible for a 25% discount on tuition.

Educator Discount

Anyone employed by a local educational institution is eligible for a 20% discount on tuition.

Seniors and Veterans

Anyone 60 years of age or older, or who is a Military Veteran, can receive a 10% discount on tuition.

Waiting Lists

In order to maintain a suitable student-teacher ratio, and to ensure that sufficient tools, equipment, and materials are available for each student, course size must be limited. Once a course is filled to the maximum enrollment, additional registrants can be placed on a waiting list. If a student should decide to withdraw from a course, those on the waiting list will be notified of the available opening. People left on the waiting list will be notified of the next course offering before the course is publicized.

Where Are Courses Held? 

All courses are held at the LISD TECH Center unless otherwise noted.

Will Classes Be Held During Inclement Weather? 

A decision will be made by 4:00 pm. Please listen to the local radio stations and watch our LISD TECH Center Facebook page for cancellations.
