The Monroe Michigan State Police Post is hosting a Free Car Seat Check at the Walmart in Adrian on August 6, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be on site to check car seats and provide education and instruction on proper use and installation. Free seats will be available, to children found to be in need of one. Child must be present and in a vehicle.

Early Head Start is now enrolling for our age 0-3 program. Early Head Start is a FREE program offered for pregnant mothers, infants and toddlers. Lenawee Great Start would like to thank the citizens of Lenawee County and all who participated and donated to our fourth annual Lenawee Great Start Diaper Drive. We received an outpouring of support and were able to surpass our goal of 10,000 diapers! Together we were able to collect over 13,000 diapers! In addition, we collected $800 in monetary donations that will be used to purchase more diapers throughout the year.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month! Did you know that there are approximately 13,000 children in foster care in the state of Michigan alone? Many of these children are placed in homes far from their community of origin or are separated from their siblings due to a lack of foster homes in their communities. You can help these children by becoming a foster parent! If you'd like to learn more about becoming a foster parent or if you'd like to attend one of these informational sessions, contact Staci Blalock. We hope to hear from you soon.
