Over fifty local organizations, agencies and businesses will be joining forces to offer a free, fun-filled event for young children and their families. The second annual Celebrating Lenawee’s Children, sponsored by Old National Bank, will be held at the Adrian Mall on Saturday, March 10th from 10 am to 1 pm. The theme for the event is “Lenawee Rocks” and highlights all of the things that make Lenawee County great.

In addition to sharing information and resources with families, each of the participating vendors will offer a game, craft, giveaway or other activity designed to engage preschool through early elementary age children. The first one hundred children to attend the event will receive a free Celebrating Lenawee’s Children t-shirt. The shirt design is based on the winning contest entry from eight year old Madeline Aaliyah Dunning.  Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day.

A variety of entertainment featuring local preschools, Tecumseh Public Schools Compass Performers, Adrian Police Department K9 unit and DJ Dave Atkinson will be offered throughout the day. Free identification kits from the Law Enforcement Education Program (LEEP) will also be available for children. Children’s book characters, including Pete the Cat, Elephant & Piggie, and Curious George will be on hand at various times throughout the event to greet children and for photo ops. Paul McCormack's Classroom Critters featuring "Mr. C", Joby Cuellar, will have a variety of animals for children to meet.
