Are you looking for festive events and activities for your family’s Holiday Bucket List? I thought it would be nice to share a list of some of the awesome things we can do, right here in Lenawee County!
The Second Annual City of Adrian/County Christmas Tree Lighting in front of the Lenawee County Courthouse will be November 29th at 6:30 p.m
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will be passing through our area on November 30th. The CP train is back for its 18th year in an effort to raise money, food and awareness for local food banks and food shelves. The Read It and Reap Library in Sand Creek will be hosting a party from 8-11 p.m. and collecting Non-perishable items for the Daily Bread.
Go out of a brisk stroll through Comstock Park’s Christmas Riverwalk in Adrian. It will be filled with beautiful Christmas trees purchased and decorated by local businesses, organizations, families and individuals.
A Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place during December’s Adrian First Friday on December 2. The decorated trees will be on display in Comstock Park from December 2- January 1 for the community to visit throughout the holiday season. Comstock Park is located near downtown Adrian at 263 W. Maumee St.
The Adrian Mall has a ton of great, fun, FREE family activities going on all month. Free Photos with Santa will be from Noon-5 p.m. and they start November 26 & 27 AND December 3, 4, 10, 11 & 17-24! Don’t forget to bring your own camera. They will also have a Free Breakfast with Santa on December 3rd from 10 am to Noon, just be sure you reserve your spot early. The fun continues at the mall with Santa’s Craft Corner on December 10th at 10:30 a.m. (REGISTRATION REQUIRED).
Do you want to meet some Real Reindeer or have your pet’s photo taken with Santa? Then you’re in luck, you’ll have two chances at the Adrian Mall to meet Real Reindeer, November 27th or December 17th from Noon to 3 p.m. and Santa Paws Pictures will be December 11th 4-6 p.m. All of these events are Free, don’t forget to bring your camera.
Grab some hot cocoa and put some Christmas music on and drive through the Heritage Park Light Display, it runs December 1-31 during the hours of dusk-10:00 p.m.
Hidden Lake Gardens has their Holiday Festival on December 3rd, enjoy candle lit luminaries, lighted trees, conservatory at night, hands-on craft activities, holiday entertainment, and, of course, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, from 4-8 p.m. Can’t make it out for the Holiday Festival? You can still come out for the Evening of Lights, it includes 2,000 candle-lit luminaries, lighted trees, conservatory at night, and open visitors center and gift shop. 5 to 8 p.m. December 4, 10, and 11th.
The YMCA is hosting a Free community event at Stubnitz Environmental Center with hayrides, crafts, Santa and more! Get more details on their Facebook page.
The City of Tecumseh’s Parks and Recs Tot Party will be December 19th at the A.J. Smith Rec Center from 10-11 a.m. This is a free event (We’ll be there!) for preschoolers and their families! Come out, have your picture taken with Santa and have some fun!!
