Guest blog from Lisa Eack, Parent Liaison of Lenawee Great Start.
Parents, are you concerned about your child’s development? Developmental and social-emotional delays are subtle and can occur in children who appear to be developing normally.
Lenawee Great Start provides a free tool for parents and caregivers that will help monitor a child’s physical and emotional development. The Ages and Stages Questionnaire, or ASQ screen, is an on-line tool available for children between the ages of birth and 6 years. There are two versions: physical development and social-emotional development. They provide a free and easy way for you to monitor your child’s development regularly. The results help determine if their development is on schedule. Both screens also provide resources for help, if needed.
Links to the ASQ screens are below and on the front page of the Lenawee Great Start website.
Please share this great resources with other parents and caregivers. And if you have any questions about this resource or others offered in Lenawee County, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or in January at the Lenawee Great Start office, 517-263-8931 (ask for Lenawee Great Start).
