I don’t know about you, but I tend to use the knowledge that ‘Santa is coming soon’ as a ‘motivator’ for my children to get rid of toys they no longer play with. Children are much more eager to part with toys when they are expecting new ones to take their place!
Because I also tend to be shopping a bit more these days, I notice all the recall announcements that are out. One year I discovered that one of my daughter’s toys had been recalled for being unsafe.
So I thought I’d share with you a great website. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recently created a wonderful set of websites/RSS feeds with current info on product recalls, in useful categories such as children’s products (including toys), household products, outdoor products, sports equipment, etc. You can either bookmark the appropriate website to visit regularly, or use the RSS feed subscribe button to add it to your yahoo, AOL, MSN or Google reader/email.
To see the websites and RSS subscription lists, go to http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/rss.html.
You can also view the latest feed below and on the LGS website under Local Resources—>Health & Safety.
Have a safe December!by
